Red Hot Nature

Happily ever after...well, not always! But when you have your best friend to share every day with, how can life not always be great? By focusing all our energy on each other, we're creating a marriage that will last through the eternities. We have created this blog to share our lives with our family, friends, and the future family we'll create together. "Marriage is a gift from God to us. The quality of our marriages is a gift from us to him." ~Elder L. Whitney Clayton

Mom's 50th/Half Century Birthday Party

My mom turned 50 on May 29, 2013.  My siblings and I threw her a party.  Grandma Jewkes and Grandma Jones and Aunt Jamee all helped by bringing a snack dish to serve at the party.  We just had it at the jr. high in Ferron.  We had a chocolate fountain with fruit and other things to dip under the fountain.  We attempted karaoke, but since Casey and Megan weren't there to get everyone to participate, it was kind of a bust.  Jane and Maribelle also came.  Jewkes grandparents, Jones grandparents, our family, Jamee, Maegan, Kara, Jaxton and Brinley all showed up with Jason and Jessie and Shaylee and Bronx and Payton coming after the missionaries left their house for dinner.  Shawn and Becky and Jessee and Lexee were having fun at a bees game trying to have some fun before all of Lexee's surgeries.  Poor thing!

We made signs and decorated the tables a little bit. Jamee gave mom a nighty shirt that said "I'm not 50, I'm just 26 with 24 years experience." Tayler gave her some really funny gifts like a box of kleenexes to "puff up" her sagging breasts. We had some good laughs at her gifts.  For her real gift, us kids and dad gave her plants to re-landscape her front yard. I wanted to have mom take a picture with a sign saying, "THIS is what 50 looks like!" But in all the frantic-ness of being the main party planner, I totally forgot.  All in all, it was pretty fun!
The veggies one says underneath it "grown in dirt Stacey is older than"

We put this sign on the door coming into the school!

The main table. I forgot to take pics of the other ones. Nothing too fancy. We tried to keep it on a budget for all of us poor people trying to save money! :)

We also went to Jason and Jessie's new baby's blessing on Sunday. Little Bronx! Kara and Rob were there with Jaxton. He was playing "football" with us.  You'd say, "Jax...Ready...Set...HIKE!" And he'd run at you and push you down (of course, I was sitting down because he's only 2). What a cute little guy!  We took this picture while having lots of fun at the luncheon they had at the pavillion at the rodeo grounds.
